We teach so much more than kicking and punching at Family First Martial Arts in Franklin TN. Leading with a serving heart is something near and dear to what we do. We believe that teaching compassion and empathy play a big part in our personal development. We love to encourage kids to become better leaders by making a difference in our community. Each year, we have different community service projects designed to help those around us.
This holiday season, we joined Graceworks Ministries in bringing in presents for The Manger, a program designed to help families in need during the holidays in the Williamson County area. The Manger program plans to serve 3,000-4,000 of children ages 0-18. This meant they would need lots of donated toys in order to make this happen! When we put the word out to our families, they surprised us with an abundance of generosity for the program. We are so thrilled about all the smiling faces we will be making this season. And not only did toys show up under the tree for the Manger, but our families also contributed bed sets, clothes and toiletries. We are so proud of our students and the contribution they made this year to kids and families in need!!
We also have a cool tradition in our school that our martial arts students love! The holiday season is always exciting for us and we LOVE setting up the tree and decorating for Christmas! Our tree stands 10 feet tall so LOTS of room for decorating. One of our favorite holiday traditions at our school is to decorate our Christmas tree with ornaments designed by our students. Every year, our kids get so creative. Whether it’s a traditional ornament or one with a ninja flair, our karate kids take pride in adding their personal touch to our tree. Just another reason we love the Christmas holiday here at Family First Martial Arts!
